Phil & Lee’s Homes based in Escanaba, Michigan is actively recruiting a Construction Project Manager.

The successful candidate must be team-oriented with a strong work ethic.

Key responsibilities are:

  • Supervise & direct current Project Coordinator in day-to-day tasks; identifying priorities, assigning responsibilities, and ensuring deadlines are met and work is done in an efficient & timely manner.
  • Review all RFPs from subcontractors to ensure accuracy of scope of work, prior to a contract being awarded.
  • Proficient in construction or project management software such as Microsoft Project, Co Construct, etc.
  • Manage multiple subcontractors by locating, evaluating & awarding contracts to contractors for each job. Also supervising performance for quality control.
  • Responsible to meet operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; and identifying construction management scheduling and system improvements.
  • Meet construction budgets by monitoring project expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions; providing non-project annual operating & capital budget information. Maintain budget from the projects sworn statements. Update subcontracting statement at end of job with actual vs estimated numbers and provide changes to sales for change order processing.
  • Determine all resources necessary to complete project based upon scope of work; establish standards and protocols for each subcontractor.
  • Oversee and manage project scheduling.
  • Ensure compliance of all local, state, and federal safety and building codes.
  • Responsible for ongoing reviews of construction processes; including RFPs, site visits, punch list walk throughs, etc.
  • Support Project Coordinator to ensure that transportation is scheduled for home pick-ups at factories and delivery to jobsites.
  • Highly detailed and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Partner with Project Coordinator to ensure that customer communication schedule recommendations are met, make changes as needed.
  • Responsible for ongoing coaching & support, semi-annual employee assessment and annual performance review of Project Coordinator.

Top candidates will also have 5-7 years of experience and be willing to complete a DISC personality profile.

The primary building season for Phil & Lee’s Homes is from May 1 st through December 15 th each year. During this time, most of our key employees have responsibilities that require availability 6 days per week and access via mobile phone 6am-9pm throughout the week.
